Drag racing, also called quarter mile racing is basically an acceleration test, between two cars, from a standing start. The car with the fastest acceleration and highest top speed will drive the distance; in the shortest amount of time and will win the race.
Distances; one quarter of a mile (402 meters) is the most common driving distance. One- eighth-mile (201 meters) Tracks are also popular.

In "tin racing" drag racing is the most common racing type, because a top tuned tin car dont have the best steering abilities.
